Bob Rai is an entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in operating “The Medicine Shoppe” Pharmacies in Canada. He pioneered and revolutionized the online pharmacy business to the US. He received “The Medicine Shoppe Canada National Professional Achievement Award” for expanding the scope of pharmacists’ practice. Bob and his partners pioneered the Pharmacy with Care Program (PharmacyBC.com) which serves complex care patients in their homes with the assistance of Licensed Nurse Practitioners. It has grown over the last 10+ years and now serves every Hospital in the Lower Mainland. During his time with Medicine Shoppe, Bob’s pharmacies were the first in Canada to launch two new government funded pilot programs: a revolutionary point of care HIV testing package utilizing the INSTI test and a partnership program with the Kidney Foundation of Canada to develop a more efficient screening method for chronic kidney disease using HealthTab technology. Due to his recognition for innovation and pioneering programs and technology in the pharmaceutical industry Bob was appointed as Interim CEO of Avricore Health in February of 2017, then CEO up until Oct 15, 2019 at which point, he was appointed the President of the company. He has been on the Board of Directors of Avricore Health since 2015. He also serves on the board of Directors of Emerald Health Therapeutics since 2016.
Bob has served the pharmaceutical industry in Canada in many meaningful ways outside of the framework of business. He was a member of the Alumni UBC Advisory Council representing the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science for three years.
Bob has worked as a sitting cabinet member for “A Night of Miracles” in support of BC Children’s Hospital consecutively for the past 11 years, served as Vice-Chair in 2016 and served as Chair of the gala for 2017 and 2018, including setting a record in 2018 for raising $755,000 at the Gala event.
The British Columbia Regiment has seen Bob Rai sponsor their Battleground Tour in 2012 and had Bob as a benefactor for their Mt. Kilimanjaro climb in 2014. He remains a friend of the Regiment. Bob’s work with his Medicine Shoppe locations (PharmacyBC.com) included “Golf for a Cure”, a successful fundraising event which raised over $250,000 in support of charities such as the Michael J. Fox Foundation, BC Home Care, and Meals on Wheels. Additionally, He has used his time in the Rotary Club to assist in the success of their annual gala/fundraiser dinner which helps raise funds for mental health, addiction, and youth in Vancouver.
Bob is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and was awarded “The Paul Harris Fellow Award” for his contributions to the community. He received degrees in Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Science from the University of British Columbia.
Jas Hayre, CPA, CA, has been the CFO of the company since 2012. Jas was recently a senior tax partner with MNP’s International Tax group in Vancouver (Prior to MNP, Jas was a partner with Ernst & Young, LLP in Vancouver). Jas has more than 25 years of experience in public and private practice advising clients on cross-border tax issues.
Jas’s extensive international business experience will assist the company in negotiating with both suppliers and customers globally. Jas has held leadership and advisory roles across the spectrum of company sizes and stages, from private to publicly held companies inclusive
Jas is also an entrepreneur funding a number of companies in various sectors including technology, biotech and manufacturing. Jas invests in companies which can operate globally, and which seek to provide social benefit to society.
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), Jas earned his designation in 1992 after completing his Certified General Accountant (CPA, CGA) designation in 1989.
Milan has spent the majority of his career in Financial Services, having taken up roles in Treasury, Finance and Banking Relationship
With more than 10 years of experience in sourcing medical supplies in Asia for different foreign companies and governments in North America and Europe. After graduation from the University of British Columbia, Danny joined his family medical distribution company based in Hong Kong. The company has direct relationships with medical factories in China, Malaysia and Thailand. Danny has been successful in linking CPGP directly to manufacturers in Asia and his background is assisting in establishing trust with the suppliers.
Damian Lee brings 20 years of web development and management experience to CPGP. From an interest in coding from high school, Damian completed a degree in Computer Science and Business Administration at SFU. After graduation, he went to work at TELUS for 2 years in their web app leadership program where he worked on projects saving the company over $1M dollars in FTE costs. From there, he went on to start up companies including Metro Web Systems that currently works with many organizations in the health/life sciences space such as Genome BC, admareBio, Innovative Medicines Canada, Transplant Research Foundation of BC, Sirona Biochem, and more.
